Attracting considerable attention as the second biggest aviation festival in the world, TEKNOFEST is starting again. As part of TEKNOFEST, home to many firsts again this year, a flying car design competition is organized. Applications for TEKNOFEST’s technology competitions will be accepted until February 28th. The winning teams will receive an award of over 2 million TL in total.
The countdown has started for TEKNOFEST Aerospace and Technology Festival, which was organized for the first time last year and is the second largest aviation event in the world with more than 550,000 visitors. Attracting considerable attention in Turkey, TEKNOFEST is starting again in September.
Setting sight on turning Turkey a technology-producing country and setting off with the slogan“National Technological Breakthrough”, TEKNOFEST is organized in cooperation with Turkish Technology Team, Ministry of Industry and Technology as well as with the support of leading technology companies, government agencies and universities in Turkey.
As part of TEKNOFEST dedicated to raising awareness of science and technology in society as a whole and increasing the trained human resources in science and engineering, technology competitions are organized in 15 different categories to support the efforts of young people on future technologies.
Competitions open to secondary, high school and university students also include future technologies such as flying cars and self-driving vehicles as well as the current technologies such as rockets, unmanned underwater systems, unmanned aerial vehicles.
Applications for technology competitions in which a total of over 2 million TL will be awarded to the winning teams will continue until February 28, 2019 at teknofestistanbul.org.
Participating teams are also to receive technical consultancy and material support for their projects besides over 2 million TL award in total.
TEKNOFEST successfully became the most important aviation and technology event not only in Turkey but also in the region in its first year. Last year, TEKNOFEST’s competitors included drone racers from 25 countries, white hat hackers from 24 countries and technology entrepreneurs from 83 countries. This year, applications of foreign teams are accepted for TEKNOFEST.
