A new co-working space for METU students

The construction of the "METU Students Co-working Area" will begin at the end of November 2020, and it is planned to be completed and put into service in September 2021.

The “Co-working Area” to create alternative, comfortable study areas and new activity spaces for our students is set to be built where the old gendarmerie buildings are located at the exit of the A4 gate. The construction of the “METU Students Co-working Area” will begin at the end of November 2020, and it is planned to be completed and put into service in September 2021.

The building designed as a “Co-working Area” to create an environment where our students can organize events, develop new ideas and work together. It will feature high spatial efficiency, a design integrated with the METU Forest, and provide a working and socialization environment for our students. “The Firsts of METU Exhibition”, which will display the firsts and achievements of METU, will take place at the entrance of the building as a part of the project.

The design of the building is planned to provide our students an area of utilization communed with nature with the continuity of green, and the amphitheater to be located in this section will be used for activities such as outdoor activities, talks, and workshops. The Co-working Area, which will be constructed by protecting all the trees in the area and will have a closed usage area of approximately 1,000 square meters, is designed as parts that can enlarge and contract when necessary.
