METU Department of Physical Education and Sports participated in the Erasmus+ Project “Standing Together for Healthier and Safer Community”

METU took part in the consortium of the "Standing Together for a Healthier and Safer Society" project, supported by the ERASMUS+ program of the European Commission.

METU Department of Physical Education and Sports took part in the consortium of the “Standing Together for a Healthier and Safer Society” project, supported by the ERASMUS+ program of the European Commission. Prof. Levent İnce is the department representative of the project.

The project, implemented with the support of the European Union since January 2021 in the field of sports, has been started with the kick-off meeting of the Project Consortium, held in Belgrade on February 5-6, 2021.

The project, in which youth organizations, football clubs, and university representatives from Turkey, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, North Macedonia, Serbia, and Slovenia are within the project consortium, is coordinated by the ‘Development Center for Youth’ from Belgrade (Serbia).

The main aim of the project is to develop coach education programs that will contribute to the holistic development of children and young footballers, based on the coaching role, responsibility, and practices of football coaches.
