In the 2023 world university rankings announced by the Round University Ranking (RUR), Middle East Technical University has once again ranked first among the universities in Turkey after last year. According to the announced results, METU has successfully ranked 382nd worldwide.
Ranking the leading higher education institutions around the world, RUR evaluates universities according to a total of 20 indicators under the main categories of Teaching, Research, International Diversity and Financial Sustainability. In the process of determining the overall performance scores of universities, Teaching and Research activities have 40% weight each, while the categories of International Diversity and Financial Sustainability are each given a 10% weight. The data analyzed by the RUR ranking system while evaluating universities are provided by Clarivate Analytics.
According to the 2023 ranking of RUR, among all the universities worldwide, METU has ranked 387th in Research, 286th in International Diversity, and 67th in Financial Sustainability.
