Prof. Ülkü Yetiş and Prof. Filiz Dilek, faculty members of the Department of Environmental Engineering at METU, have become partners of NEWFEED, an innovation project for the exploitation of the food industry by-products.

A new Horizon 2020 project, titled “Climate-Resilient Regions Through Systemic Solutions and Innovations - ARSINOE,” in partnership with METU Institute of Marine Sciences, which will last for four years, commenced in October.

METU is the local coordinator of the project titled "CRAFT: Developing a Novel Climate Change Risk Assessment Framework for Cultural Heritage in Turkey", funded by United Kingdom Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC).

At the end of the Horizon 2020 program, Middle East Technical University has ranked first among the universities in Turkey in terms of the number of projects received funding.

Assoc. Prof. Mehmet Fatih Danışman is granted TÜBİTAK 2537 – CAS (Czechia) Bilateral Cooperation Programme funding for his project titled “Dipole-Dipole Interactions in Self-Arranging Single Layers”.

An international project titled "Offshore Wind Farms Large-Scale Integration in Turkey (WindFlag)", which was launched on March 1, 2020 and is planned to continue for 36 months.

The project led by Assoc. Prof. Ozan Cem Çelik, entitled “Guidelines for Structural Health Monitoring Systems on Tall Buildings and a Case Study” is funded by AFAD under its National Earthquake Research Program.

METU Earthquake Engineering Research Center (EERC) was founded in 1976 as a multidisciplinary institution and one of the oldest research centers in the area.

Prof. Deniz Üner has been accepted for funding within the scope of the TÜBİTAK BİDEB 2247-A National Fellowship for Outstanding Researchers Program with her project titled “Operando NMR Spectroscopy: A New Method for Monitoring Heterogeneous Catalytic Reactions”.

METU took part in the consortium of the "Standing Together for a Healthier and Safer Society" project, supported by the ERASMUS+ program of the European Commission.
