METU ranked first among 55 universities from Turkey according to the 2021-2022 ranking of two thousand universities worldwide, according to the Center for World University Rankings (CWUR).
In the list where the quality of education, alumni employment, quality of faculty, and research performance are evaluated by CWUR, METU ranked first in the national rankings with a total of 73.4 points. METU also became top-ranked among Turkish universities by ranking 573rd in the Global 2000 list.
