Prof. Başak Zeynep Alpan, the Chair of the European Studies (EUS) Programme, will attend the Pre-Presidency Conference of TEPSA (Trans-European Policy Studies Association) in Dublin on 11–12 June 2026. This high-level gathering will serve as a vital forum for academic experts and policymakers to shape the agenda for the upcoming Irish Presidency of the Council of the European Union. As Ireland prepares to lead the Council, the conference will focus on critical themes including digital sovereignty, competitiveness, and the refinement of EU social and regulatory frameworks.

The METU delegation’s participation underscores EUS Programme’s dedication to advancing European integration research and fostering international dialogue. By contributing to the formulation of policy recommendations, EUS-METU continues to bridge the gap between academic excellence and real-world EU governance, ensuring that academic research has a direct impact on the future of the European project.

The METU European Studies Graduate Program has been a long-standing member of TEPSA, which is one of Europe’s most prestigious research networks. METU is the only Turkish university with voting rights in TEPSA, and as an extension of this registered membership, EUS-METU has significantly been part of Horizon projects and European research initiatives in the past and will continue to do so.
